E-bikes are a huge part of the bike market these days and finding good support is really difficult, especially if the bike was purchased online and delivered in a box. Because of the nature of the lithium Ion, safety is a concern for me. The batteries have a high discharge capacity; therefore, too many amperes of current to safely assess without certain safeguards, which most mechanics don't have training for. We are not electrical engineers, electricians or computer hardware specialists.
While I understand many of the DC properties of electrical, mobile systems, I have no training from the bike industry on each proprietary design. Currently, courses for ebike electrical systems are being designed; however, as far as I know, many, if any, have yet to be implemented.
Even with basic bike repair, equipment that has nothing to do with the battery or motor, working around the electrical equipment is still problematic. So for now, I have to say no to e-bikes.
Thank you for understanding
